# Onboard your first company

Register the legal entity that issues your invoices for e-invoicing in its country. You need a workspace and the company's tax details.

Creating an account gives you a workspace. Sending compliant invoices also needs a **company**: the legal entity that issues them, registered for e-invoicing in its country. You onboard each company once per country and environment.

> **Before you start**
>
> [Set up your workspace](https://docs.complyance.io/get-started/workspace-setup/) and sign in as an Owner or Admin. Start in **Sandbox**: a company onboarded in Sandbox is not onboarded in Production, and you repeat onboarding there when you go live.

## What onboarding collects

Every country asks for four kinds of details:

- **Company identity**: the legal name and the tax identifiers the country uses.
- **Branch**: the first location or unit of the company. You can add more branches later.
- **Source**: the name and version of the system that will send the branch’s invoices, such as `acme-erp` version `1.0.0`. Every invoice request names it.
- **Network registration**: in countries that use the Peppol network, the company’s Peppol participant ID. You can register a new one or use one the company already has.

## What to have ready, by country

| Country | Have ready | Guide |
| - | - | - |
| United Arab Emirates | The 10-digit TIN, the administrator email registered with the tax authority, branch details, source name and version | [Onboard a UAE company](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/ae/onboarding/) |
| Saudi Arabia | The company’s registration details, source details and a verification code (OTP) from the ZATCA portal | [Onboard a Saudi Arabian company](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/sa/onboarding/) |
| Oman (sandbox only) | The VATIN, legal name, branch name, Peppol participant ID, source name and version | [Onboard an Omani company](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/om/onboarding/) |
| Malaysia | The legal name, branch name, registration number and other identifiers | [Onboard a Malaysian company](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/my/onboarding/) |
| Belgium | Legal, tax, branch and source details, and the Peppol participant details | [Onboard a Belgian company](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/be/onboarding/) |
| Germany | The company’s registered details, branch details, source name and version | [Onboard a company in Germany](https://docs.complyance.io/countries/de/onboarding/) |

## How it works

1. Select the company’s country and the environment at the bottom of the Invoice Portal sidebar.
2. Open **Onboard** and choose **Add Company**. A guided form for that country opens.
3. Enter the company identity. Some countries verify it with the tax authority before you can continue.
4. Add the first branch and its source.
5. Complete the Peppol registration, if the country uses it.
6. Review and finish.

The full steps, with what each screen asks, are in [Onboard a company](https://docs.complyance.io/one-platform/invoice-portal/onboard/). Each country guide above lists that country’s exact fields and errors.

## Check the result

The company appears on the **Onboard** page with its branches, source details and registration status. A company marked **Pending** has not finished registering yet. You can send invoices once registration completes.

> **You now have**
>
> A company registered for e-invoicing, with a branch and a source that can send its invoices. Next, [map your invoice data](https://docs.complyance.io/one-platform/developer-portal/integration-engine/) or [send your first invoice through the API](https://docs.complyance.io/get-started/quickstart/).

## Onboarding your customers’ companies

ISVs onboard companies on behalf of their customers, one at a time or in bulk, from the portal or through the Connect API. See [Onboard a UAE company through Connect](https://docs.complyance.io/partner-platform/isv/companies/onboard/).
