# Partner Platform for accounting firms

Add the clients you manage, choose how they are billed, and work in their workspaces from one place. You need an accounting-firm workspace in Partner Platform.

Your accounting-firm workspace lists the clients you manage. Each client keeps its own One Platform workspace, with its own companies, documents and reports. From Partner Platform you add clients, decide how each one is billed, give your team access to them and coordinate integration work with a system integrator.

## What is in your workspace

The **Client Portal** holds your day-to-day work:

| Menu item | Use it for |
| - | - |
| **Clients management** | Add clients, see their credits and limits, and open their workspaces |
| **Partnerships** | Ask for a system integrator and share clients with them |
| **Manage Subscription** | Your firm’s own plan and credits |
| **Sales** | Track deals with prospective clients, when your workspace has it |
| **Credits** | Your firm’s credit balance and transactions |
| **Notifications**, **Webhooks**, **Support** | Alerts, event delivery and help |
| **Settings** | Your profile, security, team and email notifications |

The **Developer Portal**, the Partner Platform’s Developer portal, has **Integration engine**, **Testbeds**, **Certification**, **Notifications** and **Webhooks**. Which items you see also depends on your role.

## Add a client

1. Open **Clients management** and choose **Add new client**. With no clients yet, choose **Add First Client**.
2. In **Create New Workspace**, enter the client’s workspace details.
3. Choose a **Commercial Mode**. It is required, and it decides who pays for the client’s usage. See [Commercial modes](https://docs.complyance.io/partner-platform/accounting-firm/#commercial-modes).
4. Create the workspace.

The client appears in the **Clients list**. It is a separate One Platform workspace that your firm manages. The client’s own users then sign in to One Platform, onboard their companies and send documents there. See [Onboard your first company](https://docs.complyance.io/get-started/company-onboarding/).

A client can also come from a deal you won in **Sales**. See [Track deals in Sales](https://docs.complyance.io/partner-platform/accounting-firm/#track-deals-in-sales).

## Commercial modes

| Mode in the table | When you create the client | What it means |
| - | - | - |
| **Partner Credit Pool** | **Partner as Credit Pool Mode** | Your firm holds the credits. The client uses them from a limit you assign. |
| **Partner Billed Per Client** | **Partner billed per Client Mode** | Your firm is billed for each credit assignment to the client. |
| **Direct Client Billing** | **Direct Client Billing Mode** | The client buys and pays for its own credits. |

A client without a mode shows **Not Configured**: choose a mode to enable billing.

### Assign a limit to a credit-pool client

For a **Partner Credit Pool** client, open the client’s action menu and choose **Assign Limit**. Enter the **Limit amount**, the start and expiry date and time, the **Country** and the **Time zone**. The dialog shows the available partner credits. If the amount is higher, you see `Limit exceeds available partner credits.`

A credit-pool client sees **Limits** instead of **Credits** in its own Invoice Portal. In every mode except **Direct Client Billing**, the client’s plan page says that purchases are handled by your firm, so the client asks you, not Complyance, for more.

## Work in a client’s workspace

Use the client’s action menu in **Clients management**:

- **View Documents** and **View Reports** open the client’s documents and reports.
- **View Credit History** shows the client’s credit or limit transactions.
- **Manage Access** decides which of your users can open the client’s One Platform workspace.

Access to your firm’s workspace does not give access to a client. In **Manage Access**, choose a **Client role** for each user (**USER**, **GUEST**, **ADMIN** or **PARTNER**) and select **Grant**. **Revoke** takes access away. To let someone from the client in with restricted access, enter their address under **Restricted customer access** and choose **Invite customer**. See [Manage client workspaces](https://docs.complyance.io/partner-platform/clients/).

## Work with a system integrator

If a client’s ERP needs connecting, open **Partnerships** and create a request for a system integrator. The connection is arranged through support. When it is **Active**, assign only the clients included in the agreed work. See [Connect with a partner and assign clients](https://docs.complyance.io/partner-platform/partnerships/).

## Track deals in Sales

**Sales** is a pipeline for clients you are still winning. It is available when your workspace has it and your user has Sales access.

- **Pipeline** shows your deals as a board: **New**, **Scoping**, **Quote Sent**, **Negotiation**, **Closed Won** and **Closed Lost**. Choose **Create Deal** to add one.
- **Company** lists the prospective client companies.
- **Templates** holds your sales document templates.

The first time, an Owner or Admin with Sales access connects the workspace under **Connect your company to Sales Lifecycle**, using the Company ID your customer success manager gives you.

A company another partner is already pursuing is held for that partner for 45 days. You see **45-day priority** and cannot create a deal for it while the priority applies.

When a deal is won, open **Customer activation** and choose **Request activation**. The client is then set up as a **New workspace**, linked to an **Existing workspace**, or made **Partner-managed**, and the card shows each step until it is **Live**. A deal alone does not complete the client’s e-invoicing setup.
